iBomber Defense: Pacific is a universal app based on the Tower Defece genre. Tower Defence games are more often seen now especially after many other successful running games like Temple Run, Angry Birds etc. The games which are of running genre and introduce more fun than only fight gain more attention of players. I have seen many casual players taking a lot of interest in games like Angry Birds or Temple Run but the ones which are designed on the concept of wars are more often played by specific category of people.
iBomber Defence: Pacific is 4th sequel which Chillingo has released after the lapse of 5 months. There is not much of a difference if we talk about the style of game play involved which may result in some monotonous for some of us. But it doesn’t mean that this game has nothing new to offer rather the game will keep you engrossed and this is the result which you can expect from any Tower Defence game.
The game is based on the WWII settings and all the visuals are perfectly set for it where game visuals give a 1940’s comic book feeling. Starting from menus to interface the game reflects military settings which is also perfectly set for the users. Colors and themes also make sense in the light of WWII and you do not feel far fetched or out of place. Game has smooth animations and affects which add nice polish to the overall experience.
iBomber Defense Pacific is quite similar to previous versions, includes 7 weapons to choose from out of which each can be upgraded to 4 levels making use of points achieved by winning the game. The idea of dropping missiles is great and every level has two objectives, primary and secondary to accomplish completely.
Basic concept of the game follows the standard tower defense genre, and as a the commander of your forces you have to strategically place towers along the path of enemy’s intrusion in order to successfully engage wave after wave of attacks who have to aim to destroy your base. This can be done with simple and easy controls and intuitive interface. All the actions in the game are accomplished with a single tap control, which make the gameplay more functional and swift.
Along with the these features iBomber Defence: Pacific has got the ability to upgrade turrets and defenses during in and out of missions. You have the options to strike against enemy with aerial strikes also and apart from standard land attacks in some of the levels offer amphibious assaults as well. The game offers wide variety of maps which helps in reaching to the goal without lot many difficulties.
The best thing about the game is that at times you may find enemy not following the specific rules of engagement so be ready for any kind of surprises. But such like surprises add more fun in the game and make it more worthy to be played. This feature of the game will force you to take some defensive measures at unforeseen places.
There is a wide range of different turrets which include standard machine gun placement, flamethrowers, rocket launch pads and communication stations. You can use the method of MIX of turrets that will help you to cater to a wide range of targets. You have the ability to pause and dig in new turrets anytime during the game. There is actually very little real story in the game and it should not be expected with Tower Defense type genre.
