You must have played a large number of great games on your iOS platforms like iPhone, iPad and iPod. But real gamers must have this thing in mind that actual games are played on proper gaming consoles. It was a myth that developers only make good games for the PC, PS and Xbox owners and not for mobiles. But now EA games has added equal fun to sports based NFL Game, Madden 12.
Coming over to the game, when you start Madden 12 for the game for the first time, it will ask you to create Origin account. Origin is the latest online gaming system by EA so do not worry. Madden 12 depends on Origin for leaderboard tracking purposes which is useful in online gaming. The origin of the account creation can be really buggy which creates most of the problems related to username selection but you have to manage it. Then it will really bug you on addition of password at the end of form filling, but this is the only bad part of game (Which has otherwise nothing to do with quality and development of this Game).
Now coming over to the controls, you must have played many games on iOS that make good use of the virtual joystick. Madden NFL 12 is not one of those games. I found it very difficult for the players with the joystick control. In short you have to keep your wits about to get hold of this game completely.
Calling plays is as simple as you want it to be. You can use game flow function, which picks the plays for you, or you can select your own games in Basic or Advanced modes. The advanced mode is fun, but can be a bit difficult to get through all work on a mobile device. Advanced mode of any game is difficult and you should go for it once you have full authority over the game.
The defensive AI is at best, even on All Madden. You can use the torch of the defense with relative ease throughout the game, especially when making use of hot routes, which is definitely a great feature. Imagine can anything be better than a touchscreen hot routes?
One thing that surprised me was the amount that you can adapt your team during league play. You can negotiate, cut and even sign players. This is feature is something of a type which one can never even expect from a mobile based game. I have seen so many of equivalent features in many games on other consoles in which you make a career but not on any mobile game before this. Here is the point at which one can say that EA games has taken lead from other simple mobile game developers. Maybe most of these games from well known companies are not common these days but will definitely make some breakthrough in days to come.
The best part of the game was the audio recording of John Madden – even if the audio sounds like as it very old. I loved the addition of Madden absurd comments which increased the Joy of playing game. So what is the bottom line of this review, I think this Madden NFL 12 is a great game with slightly difficult controls to learn in the beginning but remember that this game has less potential of causing any addiction.
One of the best thing about this game is that it is available for both iPad and iPhone / iPod Touch.
