I am pretty sure that all of us must be aware of most common board game of 1980s and 90s. It became one of the most popular game and I have personally seen people taking more interest in it than an video game. But those were old times as compared to this era of Smartphones and Tablets. At that time the alternate options with children were only to play outdoor sports instead or play video games like Atari.
So once the comparison was between these option then definitely choice can go to something interesting around yourself. But the problem with such interesting board games in present times is that they are too expensive plus a huge unnecessary mass to carry along. It might have come in PC versions of games which I do not remember. Being a fan of Monopoly I never paid any attention to PC version of this game but once I came to know that it exists on iPhone or iPad then it was a kind of breakthrough for me. I immediately installed it and found some interesting points.
First point to be noted is that this Monopoly for iOS has been developed by your famous well known developers Electronic Arts so expect less of bugs and more of additional fun in the game. If you own iPad or iPad 2 then I tell you that it is the application which you must have at any cost because playing board games on PC or iPhone cannot be so easier than playing it on tablet due to sufficient view available.
The best thing about Monopoly is that it is not a game of single player rather it forms a complete family entertainment keeping all the people around you involved into it. The game is as most of you know based on economies, business etc. One year after the iPhone version, the HD version for iPad was released which was otherwise not different in capabilities but the only thing it added to game was bringing this board game closer to reality. You have choice to select the board of own choice either UK with Old Kent Road to Mayfair or USA version with Mediterranean to Boardwalk. Another feature which adds to the glory of this game is change of currency from GBP or US$ to simply M (Money). This has no effect other than making this game more global friendly.
As it is EA game so there should be no worry as far as the quality is concerned. The developers have paid equal attention on graphics as they have paid to game play. This game is also one of those which can spoil your whole day in while sitting in front of device and doing nothing.
For those who have not played this game before, you have to start to adjust with monopoly of system. Bottom line is to keep building houses and further hotels in complete area. Once you have more property, you will be getting more and more money from your competitors thus keeping them under heavy loans / debts. At the end of day you will find our competitor a bankrupt case. You can also swap your properties with money to further advance in the game.
Keeping all factors aside another important aspect of the game is that you have four difficulty levels to play like very easy, easy, medium and difficult. This is because such like things can be manipulated in the electronic version of the game. Once you will play this game then it will be revealed that what is the impact of setting difficulty levels on such board game.
In total four players can play this game either on a single device or even using 4 different iPad / iPhone. You can also connect iPad with iPhone during the game making use of WiFi / Bluetooth connectivity. Coming over to the modes of game, Electronic Arts has added a teacher mode in order to make you learn in case you are not familiar with the game play. It has been included with a Table Top mode in which you do not need to rotate the iPad again and again rather it will automatically come in front of the next player (this is in case you have no other device connected).
The Monopoly games can last for hours and even day long so there is option to save your game as and when required. The only negative aspect of this game is that you cannot play it online.
