Once Upon a Light is a simple game with basic genre a Puzzle Game based on physics tricks. You can find several games of this genre on Apple App Store but at times you tend to get frustrated because of the difficulty level. If a puzzle game is hard to understand to make it through I think there is no use of such game for casual players. If puzzle game becomes too difficult then it can only help people who are looking for memory enhancement. Instead a casual gamer like me is not going to waste time on a too difficult game. In Once Upon a Light you need to remain focused into the game by thinking of what to do next with a certain bearable level of difficulty which is sufficient to keep your interest maintained in the game. So if you are looking for a Puzzle game based on physics tricks and at the same time you are a casual gamer, then Once Upon a Light is going to be the best choice for you without any doubt.
The game’s environment contains steam-punk cartoon type look which supports overall setting of the game. The name of central character of Once Upon a Light is Eddie who is a mustached guy and the cinematic in the start of game shows you that he is trying to save his love lady being carted off to another electronic environment but initially couldn’t stop. Now you are the helper of Eddie and you have to make his way through to get his love back. And now you as a player are his helper to make him reach his love.
Here the puzzle starts. Actually you have to solve the puzzles in way to clear levels and make Eddie meet his love one. Once you will start off with puzzles, you are going to find each new level with a variety of settings with few things placed in a different way. The items which you will find at each level are a few light sockets, metal and glass walls, three energy coins, one entrance and one exit portal. You have to fling Eddie from one socket to the next, bouncing against the walls and collect energy along the way. While inside the each level, every socket can only be activated for specific number of times. Once the a socket is no more of use, all the bulbs around it go off and there won’t be anymore light left in them.
There are a total of 90 levels in a total of 7 Worlds in this game with each World having different setup. As you know with the passage of time once the levels are increased, the difficulty level of puzzles will also be more. To clear every level in the game you need to enter from entrance portal and make your way successfully to exit portal. Once you start playing the game you will notice that there is no time limit so you can plan as much as you want. Secondly earn as many points as possible in each level. Drag the Eddie with your finger making the target. You will find some switches in each level which must be switched on or off. There are a total of three energy coins in each level which must be collected to gain maximum points. As the game will progress, you will notice that sometimes getting coins becomes more difficlut as they are not in your route but if you want to get maximum advantage, you must accept the challenge to get most out of the game.
The thing which I disliked in the Once upon a Light was lack of tutorial in the start. You need to learn the game at your own almost. However, by so much of experience, you exactly come to know what should be done to play any game on touch screen. For iOS users, the game is a universal app which is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch at a price of $0.99 and for android users the price is $1.36 for all platforms.
